00: Browser Lifecycle
What cookies
actually are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember you across page loads. Your session, preferences, or how you got here. We use only what we need. The canvas shows the full browser-to-server lifecycle: request, response, and the cookie living in your browser between visits.
Session vs
persistent cookies
Session cookies live only as long as your browser tab is open. They are gone the moment you close. Persistent cookies stay for a set duration so you don't have to log in again on your next visit. We use session cookies for navigation and short-lived persistent ones for preferences.
Consent &
your controls
Essential cookies run without consent. They are strictly necessary for the site to work. All optional cookies require your explicit opt-in. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser settings. No dark patterns, no re-asking on every visit.
Browser-level
controls
Every major browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies at any time. Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge all expose cookie settings in their Privacy menus. Blocking essential cookies may affect site functionality. We'll always tell you which ones are required and why.
How we notify
you of changes
When we update this policy materially, adding a new cookie category, extending lifetimes, or changing purposes, we'll post the updated version here with a new effective date and, if the change is significant, notify you directly. Continued use after 14 days means acceptance.
Cookie Catalog
Every cookie
we actually use
Keeps you authenticated across page navigations during a single browser session.
CSRF protection token. Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks on form submissions.
Stores your cookie consent choices so we don't re-ask on every visit.
Anonymous page-view counter. No personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting.
Records the referring URL for a single session so we can understand which channels bring visitors.
Saves UI preferences (e.g. reduced-motion, theme) across visits so the site loads as you last left it.
Opt-in performance timing data. Helps us diagnose slow page loads. No content is captured.
A/B testing cohort. Assigns you to a design experiment variant to help us improve the site.
